Speaking Engagement  |  French-American Chamber of Commerce of the Carolina's

David Garrett, a member of Nexsen Pruet's International Law practice and head of the firm's Immigration practice, recently spoke at the French-American Chamber of Commerce of the Carolina's luncheon "Quand on Veut, on Peut: Recruitment, Onboarding, Managing, and Firing." David discussed the unique challenges of attracting and retaining foreign workers facing companies that need foreign expertise and the best practices for managing an employment relationship with non-American workers from the onset to termination.

From the French-American Chamber of Commerce of the Carolinas:

The French-American Chamber of Commerce-Carolinas (FACC-Carolinas) is an independent, non-profit, member driven organization headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina. Through events and programs, the FACC- Carolinas creates opportunities for members to network, connect, collaborate and learn from on another. The FACC also provides a range of trade services to local members and to French companies seeking to develop their business in the Carolinas.

David Garrett’s work in immigration has taken him around the world to share his legal knowledge. As an active member of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA), he regularly represents the state as a delegate in meetings with the Dai-ni Tokyo Bar Association, Japan’s largest bar association. As a delegate, he helps to plan the trip and coordinate meetings with local law firms, government officials, businesses and bar organizations. Through his work with the NCBA Attorney Exchange Program, David recently helped the NCBA’s Young Lawyers Division host several young lawyers from Haiti as they visited the United States.
