Michael Parente is an Associate with Nexsen Pruet’s litigation team, focusing on white-collar defense. He represents and advises businesses and individuals on both criminal and civil actions.
Prior to joining Nexsen Pruet as an attorney, Michael worked for the firm as a law clerk during law school and for two summers. While clerking, he was heavily involved in a federal white-collar criminal trial that resulted in an acquittal for a client charged with health care fraud. Michael also worked on several parallel civil investigations with federal agencies such as the FTC, SEC, and CFPB.
Michael received a B.A. in Philosophy and a Master of Public Health from the University of Virginia and earned his law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law. Before attending law school, Michael was a health care industry analyst with a corporate intelligence firm.
