Overview

As former Senior Corporate Employment Counsel for Michelin North America, Inc., Christy brings practical, real-world experience to her practice, helping companies, both large and small, navigate complex employment-related issues. Christy’s experience as nationwide in-house counsel has equipped her with a proactive, no-nonsense approach to problem-solving and dedication to robust litigation advocacy. Christy’s practice focuses on all things employment, including those involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, medical leave, disability accommodations, ADA website litigation, hiring, discipline, performance management, termination, non-compete disputes, and myriad other personnel-related issues.

Christy’s love of the law initially began when she worked as a litigation paralegal, assisting with a variety of federal and state court cases. Through this experience, Christy gained invaluable knowledge and discovered that her best and highest use was that of attorney, rather than paralegal. With the unwavering support of her husband and four children in tow, Christy quit her job and pursued a law degree. While at the University of South Carolina School of Law, Christy honed her advocacy skills, serving as the first female Chief Justice of the Mock Trial Bar and earning the Sherod H. Eadon Scholarship for trial advocacy. At graduation, Christy was a recipient of the prestigious bronze Compleat Lawyer Award, which is awarded to individuals who exemplify the highest standards of professional competence, ethics, and integrity. After graduation, Christy clerked for Senior United States District Court Judge, Joseph F. Anderson, Jr.

Christy is a member of the John Belton O’Neall Inn of Court, an invitation only organization which fosters dedication to professionalism, ethics, civility, and excellence in the practice of law. In 2019 she was awarded the inaugural Distinguished Alumni Early Career Award by Clemson University’s Psychology Department. Christy has been recognized as a Legal Elite in South Carolina and was listed as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for Employment and Labor in 2021 and 2023.
