Ryan Clairmont is a Patent Agent where he regularly drafts and prosecutes patent applications and works with clients to perform freedom to operate (FTO) searches and develop patent portfolio strategies.
Prior to joining Nexsen Pruet, Ryan worked for a boutique intellectual property firm, gaining extensive experience with patent applications primarily in the chemical, biochemical, biological, machine learning and software fields. With a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Ryan's research and industry experience focused on the study of organic catalysts for generating carbon-carbon bonds from aldehydes as well as the development and optimization of analytical methods using high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), mass spectrometry (MS), and tandem mass spec (MSMS).

Outside of Nexsen Pruet, Ryan enjoys using Python libraries to mine data from the Internet and develop machine learning models to analyze and assess the data.
