Overview
Erica Shedd is an associate with Nexsen Pruet's litigation team. She represents and advises businesses and individuals on both criminal and civil matters. She spent one year as an Associate with the firm in 2019-2020, and now returns after clerking for the Honorable Terry L. Wooten, Senior United States District Judge for the District of South Carolina.
Erica earned her law degree, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2019. During law school, Erica served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Dennis W. Shedd, Circuit Court Judge for the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and to the Honorable J. Michelle Childs, United States District Judge for the District of South Carolina. She also interned at Nexsen Pruet for one year during which time she gained extensive experience in trial preparation, research and writing. While interning for the firm, she was heavily involved in a federal white-collar criminal trial that resulted in an acquittal for a client charged with health care fraud.
