Overview

Brian Pearce’s practice mirrors the geographic diversity of the real estate in North Carolina of which his practice focuses.  Be it litigating a loan matter that involved real estate, procuring land use approvals from a municipal board, closing a commercial loan, negotiating a commercial lease, drafting a development, fighting a landlord/tenant dispute, or resolving a title dispute, Brian’s practice has touched every aspect of the real estate market.   

A growing economy has seen Brian's practice have a heavy transactional component of late, working on large scale projects with significant economic impact. In 2020, these projects included a $262M sorting and distribution center creating 451 jobs with UPS, and another $109.4M gene therapy facility that created 209 jobs with Audentes Therapeutics. In 2018, Brian closed seven of what the Triad Business Journal rated as the Triad's Largest Commercial Real Estate transactions.

Named one of the Piedmont Triad’s Forty Leaders under Forty in 2013, Brian has made his mark on the Greensboro Community. Whether it be through his volunteer work with the Greensboro Sports Council, the Greensboro Future Fund, the Greensboro Jaycees, the Wyndham Championship or any of the other various local groups he is involved with in Greensboro, Brian has done his best to help the community in which he lives.

Brian’s interests do not stop at just the Greensboro community.  In fact, Brian’s most passionate cause is advocating for families with children on the autism spectrum. As an “Autism Dad” himself, Brian is constantly looking for ways he can get involved to make life easier on families and children living with autism.  This passion has led Brian to become involved with the local autism groups and has taken Brian to Raleigh where he has actively lobbied for autism insurance reform. In 2015, Autism Speaks named Brian as its Parent Advocate of the Year.

On a professional level, Brian has a similarly full plate of involvement.  Brian stays busy by being an active member the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and the International Council on Shopping Centers.  Brian has also served a long term on the City of Greensboro Board of Adjustment, including a two year stint as the Board's chair and is currently the Treasurer of the North Carolina Bar Association's Land Use and Zoning Council.  This involvement, along with his professional acumen has led to Brian being named an Emerging Legal Leader by Lawyers Weekly and a Rising Star by Super Lawyers.

Outside Nexsen Pruet

There do not appear to be any sports that do not interest Brian Pearce.  Although his competitive days on the field are behind, Brian Pearce still enjoys kicking the soccer ball around in the Greensboro Adult Soccer leagues.  When not spending his free time with his family or on the soccer field, Brian is often on the trails of Greensboro training for his next marathon. Although not a speed demon or a contender to win any races, Brian loves being known as a “Marathoner,” having finished two marathons with more planned for the future.

Despite the love of sports, Brian enjoys spending the majority of his time outside the office with his wife, being the proud parents of two young children.

I enjoy seeing projects go from undeveloped land to a building that is providing livelihoods for those who work inside it and products that all of us can use and enjoy.
