USC Law School to Honor Cherie Blackburn with Compleat Lawyer Gold Award

April 24, 2013

Cherie Blackburn, a member (partner) in the firm’s Charleston office, is the recipient of a 2013 Compleat Lawyer Gold Award.

Each spring, the University of South Carolina Law School Alumni Association recognizes nine attorneys who demonstrate outstanding civic and professional accomplishments as well as “exemplify the highest standard of professional competence, ethics and integrity.” The Gold Award specifically recognizes individuals who have 15-29 years in practice experience.

Blackburn has 25 years of experience representing clients in employment, intellectual property and business cases. She has experience as lead counsel in jury trials in both state and federal courts involving an array of employment issues, trademark infringement, copyright infringement and trade secret claims. She has litigated restrictive covenants in several courts throughout the country. In 2009, Blackburn received the “Most Influential Women in Business" Award in the Executive category from the Charleston Regional Business Journal.

The Compleat Lawyer Awards dinner will be held on Thursday, April 25th at the Campus Room in the Capstone Conference Center on USC’s campus.
