North Carolina's Triangle Business Journal has selected Nexsen Pruet's Neal Robbins as a 40 Under 40 Leadership Award winner for 2018.

According to the publication, the 40 Under 40 awards were established to "recognize outstanding professionals under the age of 40 for their contributions to their organizations and to the community." The Triangle Business Journal received nearly 200 nominations for this year's 40 Under 40 list. The 2018 40 Under 40 Leadership Award winners will be honored at a June 28 awards luncheon.

Neal has been practicing law for more than a decade with experience ranging from the representation of buyers and sellers in acquisition transactions to representing political campaigns and political actions committees. From 2013-2015, he served as the Director of Legislative & Intergovernmental Affairs for the State of North Carolina's Department of Environment and Natural Resources and before that he was Policy Advisor for Environment and Information Technology for (then) Governor Elect Pat McCrory.

Neal is also the founder of North State Media LLC and is the publisher of the North State Journal, North Carolina's first and only statewide newspaper.

He joined Nexsen Pruet in 2017 and acts as Special Counsel with the firm's Public Policy & Governmental Affairs team. He is a regular contributor to the team's NC Legislative Update - a newsletter summarizing the week's activities and conveying the inner workings of the legislative process and state government in Raleigh.
