Nexsen Pruet's Christy Myatt and Lisa Sumner have been named to the Top 50 Women Lawyers list in the 2019 edition of North Carolina Super Lawyers®

According to the publication, each year, Super Lawyers® recognizes the top lawyers in North Carolina via a patented multiphase selection process involving peer nomination, independent research and peer evaluation. The North Carolina lawyers who receive the highest point totals during this selection process are further recognized in North Carolina Super Lawyers Top Lists.

Christy Myatt is a leader within Nexsen Pruet, formerly serving as Chair of Nexsen Pruet’s Financial Services Practice Group. She leads and manages attorney teams to ensure that clients receive high quality advice on real estate, construction, development and tax credit lending transactions and in workouts, debt restructuring, collections and bankruptcy matters. She represents a wide variety of banking and financial institutions, trustees, creditor's committees, debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, bondholders, guarantors and others in financial transactions and in state and federal court. And she has served as a receiver in various state and federal matters on behalf of various creditors and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

Lisa Sumner is a commercial litigator focusing her practice in the areas of bankruptcy & creditors' rights. She is experienced in representing creditors in a variety of cases, including claims of lender liability, fraudulent transfers and breach of fiduciary duty, as well as filing involuntary bankruptcy petitions. She also advises lawyers on how to avoid or defend against legal malpractice claims related to bankruptcy practice, and advises clients regarding asset purchases from a receivership or bankruptcy estate.
