Nexsen Pruet attorney Molly Cherry has been elected Secretary of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association effective January 24th. Cherry will serve a one-year term and continue to serve on its Board of Directors.
“SCWLA is excited that Molly will be serving as Secretary this year. She will be a great addition to our Executive Committee as SCWLA focuses its efforts this year to deliver valuable and relevant services to our growing membership,” said Nexsen Pruet attorney Marguerite Willis, President of SCWLA.
Cherry has also been appointed to serve as Chair of the Employment and Labor Law Specialization Advisory Board. The Board prescribes and upholds the standards and procedures for certification, recertification, and decertification as a specialist in employment and labor law.
The mission of the South Carolina Women Lawyers Association (SCWLA) is to enhance the status, influence and effectiveness of women lawyers in the State of South Carolina. SCWLA will, through advocacy, action and association, take positive steps to ensure that women lawyers achieve their fair share of opportunities and benefits available to those in the legal profession. Molly Hughes Cherry is a Certified Specialist in Employment and Labor Law by the South Carolina Supreme Court. She regularly advises businesses on litigation related to employment matters.
