Former GC of NC Property Tax Commission, Janet Shires Joins Nexsen Pruet in Raleigh

Former General Counsel of the North Carolina Property Tax Commission Janet Shires has joined Nexsen Pruet’s Raleigh office, where she will work as Special Counsel with the Corporate & Tax group. Janet brings more than 25 years of legal experience to Nexsen Pruet, with a focus and dedication to the areas of Tax and Corporate Law.  While her career began with small firms and as a sole practitioner, she has served as General Counsel for the NC Property Tax Commission since 1994.

Shires earned her undergraduate and law degrees from Campbell University. She founded the Jerry D. Lee and Louise B. Lee Memorial Law School Scholarship, Campbell University, Norman A. Wiggins School of Law, an academic scholarship for students from Harnett County, NC in memory of her parents.
