"Gretchen Carlson: Dissecting her groundbreaking settlement"

Bizwomen.com, an online affiliate of The Business Journals, called on Nexsen Pruet employment & labor law attorney Kathleen Bradshaw Burchette to reflect on the settlement in the Gretchen Carlson lawsuit. The lawsuit, originally filed in early July against former CEO and Chairman of FOX news Roger Ailes, was settled for $20 million in early September.

An excerpt:

“This is a huge recovery,” said Katie Burchette, employment lawyer at Nexsen Pruet law offices in Charlotte, N.C.“There aren’t a lot of cases like this that we know about that have made it into public media.” 

Burchette joined [Bizwomen] a few weeks ago for a Facebook Live conversation about sexual harassment in the workplace. At the time, the Carlson suit seemed far from any sort of resolution. With the settlement, the case has reached landmark status."
