Fall Hires Pushes Nexsen Pruet Beyond 200-Lawyer Mark

Four Lawyers join firm in Columbia, Charleston & Charlotte offices

November 16, 2015

Nexsen Pruet’s fall hires have pushed the firm beyond the 200-attorney mark for the first time. The firm’s attorney count now stands at 202.

  • Melissa Fried works with the firm’s Employment and Labor Law Group in Charleston.
  • In Columbia, John Wall practices with the Financial Services Group and Chris Hampton with the Business Litigation and Intellectual Property Groups.
  • Katie Bradshaw Burchette works with the Employment and Labor Law Group in Charlotte.

“When Paul Cooper and Frank Gary founded this firm 70 years ago in 1945, there were just 130 lawyers in all of Columbia,” said John Sowards, the firm’s Board Chairman. “The fact that we now have more than 200 lawyers in 8 locations in North and South Carolina illustrates how the need for legal services continues to grow along with our economy.”

Each year The National Law Journal ranks Nexsen Pruet among the 350 largest in the United State. The firm was the 215 largest in 2015. More about Nexsen Pruet.
