Nexsen Pruet attorney Billy Wilkins was on hand as Lt. James Beaver of the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and Master Deputy Leslie Daniel of the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office received Upstate accolades.

Following the November 14 events, The Greenville News reported "Deputies receive Excellence in Law Enforcement award."

The award is presented to law enforcement officers who have shown “outstanding attributes in the performance of his or her duties both in the field and in the courtroom,” according to 13th Circuit Solicitor Walt Wilkins.

 

The award is named for his father, once a solicitor and former chief judge of the U.S. 4th Circuit Court of Appeals. The elder Wilkins is now an attorney in private practice in Greenville.

William W. “Billy” Wilkins is former Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and former Chair of the United States Sentencing Commission.
