Marguerite Willis to Discuss “Glass Ceilings and Glass Slippers” at National Conference

Nexsen Pruet member (partner) Marguerite Willis is in California this week to participate in “Glass Ceilings and Glass Slippers” at the Litigation Counsel of America’s 2015 Spring Conference. The annual event addresses practical issues and topics that are challenging litigators in today’s evolving legal environment.
“We’ve had the Equal Pay Act in place since 1963. But across industry sectors, on average, women still make only 78% of what a man makes for the same job,” said Willis, who is President of the SC Women Lawyers Association. “I am telling women across the country that even if they are willing to tolerate inequality for themselves, they should NOT tolerate it for their daughters, nieces and granddaughters who are next in line.”
Willis, who is a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, is co-chair of Nexsen Pruet’s Antitrust and Unfair Competition Practice. She also serves on the Board of Trustees of Columbia College, a private all-girls school that is devoted to instilling the principles of leadership.
