11 Nexsen Pruet Attorneys Named "Legal Elite" of North Carolina

Business North Carolina

January 8, 2014

Nexsen Pruet is pleased to announce that 11 attorneys have been selected by their peers to this year's "Legal Elite" of North Carolina. The 2014 list is featured in the January issue of Business North Carolina magazine.

Nexsen Pruet attorneys were chosen in each of its three North Carolina offices. They are Charles Carter, John Mabe, Corby Anderson, Grainger Pearce, William Terpening, Eric Biesecker, Benjamin Kahn, David Senter, David Pokela, Harper Heckman and Brian Pearce (Young Gun).

Ben Kahn has been honored as the category winner for Bankruptcy Law. The top vote-getter in each category becomes a member of Business North Carolina's “Legal Elite” Hall of Fame. Christy Myatt (Greensboro) was previously selected as a category winner in 2010, and therefore is a life-long member of the “Legal Elite” Hall of Fame.

Nexsen Pruet is the only firm in North Carolina to have two attorneys recognized as category winners in Bankruptcy Law.

Legal Elite

Each year, BNC sends ballot notices to every member of the N.C. State Bar living in North Carolina — asking each a simple question: Of the Tar Heel lawyers whose work you have observed firsthand, whom would you rate among the current best in these categories? Voters are not allowed to vote for themselves. They may select members of their firms only if they pick out-of-firm lawyers in the same categories, with the latter votes weighted more heavily.

Nexsen Pruet, LLC is one of the largest law firms in the Carolinas, with more than 190 attorneys and offices in Columbia, Charleston, Greenville, Hilton Head, and Myrtle Beach, S.C. as well as Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh, N.C.  Founded in 1945, Nexsen Pruet provides a broad range of legal services to the business community and represents companies and other entities in local, state, national, and international venues.  For further information, see
