Nexsen Pruet Welcomes Associates in Greensboro, Greenville

Attorneys Rebecca Jennings and Harris McRae “Mac” Watkins have joined Nexsen Pruet as Associates. Jennings practices with the firm’s employment and labor law group in Greenville while Watkins practices with the firm’s bankruptcy and financial services group in Greensboro.

Jennings comes to the firm after serving as a judicial clerk for South Carolina Supreme Court Justice John Kittredge while Watkins comes following service as a clerk for the Honorable Benjamin A. Kahn of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.

“To be a successful business defense lawyer, you have to know the law inside and out,” said board chairman Leighton Lord. “That’s why we regularly hire graduates who have clerked inside our court systems – they are the ones who understand how to reach successful outcomes for clients.”

Jennings earned her chemistry and law degrees from the University of Richmond. Her experience includes time as a clerk for Judge Edward Miller in S.C.’s Thirteenth Circuit. Watkins graduated from Wofford College and earned his law degree, with honors, from the University of North Carolina School of Law. His experience also includes time as an extern at the Commercial Litigation Branch of the United States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
