"NC Appeals Court overturns Jason Young murder conviction"

WRAL News

April 3, 2014

Following the North Carolina Court of Appeals decision to overturn a murder conviction, WRAL-TV called on Nexsen Pruet attorney Dan Boyce.

The former Federal prosecutor sat down with reporter Julia Sims to discuss the twists and turns in the high-profile prosecution of Jason Young.  Boyce told the TV station that both sides have a lot of work ahead.

“It’s highly unusual to have both a mistrial and then a reversal and remand for an entirely new trial.  Here, the prosecution and defense have to go back to square one.”
