Aspen Glen

More than 1,800 miles separates Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, and Carbondale, Colorado, and they may feel like a world apart.

Carbondale is home to Aspen Glen, a 938-acre, $200-million, private country club sitting along the banks of the Roaring Fork River and in the shadow of Colorado's 13,000-foot Mt. Sopris. Hilton Head is a semi-tropical barrier island known for its beautiful beaches off of South Carolina’s southern coast.  The common thread here is the significant experience of the Nexsen Pruet resort development group, led by Ed Hughes from the firm’s Hilton Head office. The attorneys on the resort development team provided start-to-finish legal advice for Aspen Glen’s magnificent development project.

We assisted with the land acquisition, the community documents, covenants and restrictions, club documents, permitting, and other general counsel matters. As we had served the Aspen Glen Club’s owners in projects in other states, naturally, we were thrilled to help turn this vision into reality.

Aspen Glen boasts a Jack Nicklaus golf course and club, tennis center, equestrian center, fly fishing amenities and residential lots.  The resort development group assists developers - regionally and nationally - with planned communities and resorts, recreation developments, hotels, condominiums, inns, spas, marinas, as well as commercial aspects of resort development.
