2021 Employment Law Certificate Series

Now in its seventh year, we hope that you will join us for the 2021 Employment Law Certificate Series as we expand upon content covered in previous programs to deliver more in-depth and advanced educational sessions across a range of areas critical to mitigating disputes and building highly effective and productive workplaces.

Businesses spend significant time and effort developing trade secrets that help them succeed in their given industries and set them apart from competitors. If not properly protected, trade secrets are at risk of misappropriation by employees who subsequently change employers, often engaging in competitive activities based on relationships they have developed with their former customers and clients. This webinar will address how companies can best protect trade secrets and enforce covenants not to compete and other restrictive covenants.

Topics Covered:

    • Defining and understanding trade secrets
    • Offensive and defensive measures for protecting your trade secrets
    • What is misappropriation?
    • Litigation strategies related to trade secrets
    • Understanding the differences in covenants not to compete and other restrictive covenants
    • What makes a covenant not to compete enforceable?
    • Common mistakes employers make in using and drafting restrictive covenants
    • Enforcing covenants through litigation
