Overview

Nexsen Pruet represents government agencies, businesses and individuals in a variety of issues arisen from local and state government decision-making and policy. The Governmental Litigation group’s services include:

  • Constitutional and other challenges to local and state legislation
  • Local ordinance challenges and appeals
  • Election contests and appeals
  • Tax controversies

This group has represented small and large businesses, individuals and other entities in cases that include special legislation directed at special purpose districts, governmental test cases and declaratory judgments, and all levels of election challenge law, including cases argued in front of the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Dennis J. Lynch and Travis Wheeler lead the group. They draw upon Nexsen Pruet attorneys from across the firm who focus on specific areas of law and have additional knowledge of particular jurisdictions and agencies.
