Seasoned Corporate and Securities Attorney Ken Lewis Joins Nexsen Pruet in Raleigh

Ken Lewis, with nearly three decades of experience as a corporate and securities attorney, has joined Nexsen Pruet as a Member in its Corporate Practice Group in Raleigh.

Lewis represents clients across a variety of industries in matters related to the merger, acquisition, and sale of a business and the formation of strategic alliances. He is experienced in domestic and international transactions as well as all aspects of corporate and real estate finance, including representing lenders, borrowers, and investors in negotiating and documenting debt and equity transactions.

“Ken is a highly accomplished attorney who has supported a number of organizations in a wide range of complex and significant transactions,” said John Sowards, Nexsen Pruet Board Chairman. “His knowledge and extensive background – combined with his reputation as a highly-regarded attorney in the North Carolina business community – will certainly benefit our clients and add value to our existing capabilities in Corporate Law.”

Lewis was a candidate in North Carolina for the United States Senate in 2010. Prior to that, he was a partner at two large law firms in North Carolina, and the co-founder of a boutique law firm located in both Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina. Lewis is recognized in Best Lawyers in America – Corporate Law.

Lewis is involved in a number of professional organizations and civic initiatives, including the North Carolina Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the National Bar Association. He is a Co-Chair of a capital campaign for the North Carolina Museum of Life and Science and provides pro bono legal services for Bull City Forward, which connects entrepreneurs with the resources, knowledge, and relationships they need to realize success.

Lewis earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University, where he was an R.J. Reynolds Scholar and recipient of the President’s Senior Leadership Award. He earned his law degree from Harvard Law School.
