Nexsen Pruet is proud to announce that attorney Corby Anderson has been recognized as one of Charlotte's top businesswomen and will be honored at the Charlotte Business Journal's 17th Annual Women in Business Awards & Forum.

The banquet will be held on Thursday, June 20 from 10:00am-3:00pm at the NASCAR Hall of Fame at the Charlotte Convention Center in the Crown Ballroom located at 501 S. College Street.

The event honors outstanding business women from the Charlotte area who have made significant contributions to their professions and to their communities during the past year.

Key accomplishment: Anderson established the franchise-industry group, recruited for it and marketed its services to attract more than a dozen clients in less than a year. She is the incoming editor in chief of The Franchise Lawyer, a quarterly newsletter from the American Bar Association. Anderson founded the Franchise Business Network in Charlotte in 2011, which convenes quarterly as a forum on topics in franchising.

 

Corby Anderson focuses on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on intellectual property, franchising and new media. She has represented clients in trials and appeals involving trademark, copyright, trade secret, patent, unfair competition, and false advertising claims as well as other contract and business tort disputes.  She has defended business clients in class actions involving franchise, contract, and investment issues.  She has represented media clients in defamation cases and proceedings involving subpoenas and public records.
