Nexsen Pruet Applauds Governor & Lawmakers on Efforts to Remove Confederate Flag from State House

June 23, 2015

The Chairman of the Nexsen Pruet law firm issued this statement today.

After last week’s violence in Charleston, South Carolinians revealed to the world that our state is unique. We've never before witnessed such compassion and solidarity. At vigils, at church services and in holding hands across the Ravenel Bridge -- people of all colors, ages and creeds joined together and told the world that we are one South Carolina.

Today, Nexsen Pruet applauds the leadership of Governor Haley and the Members of the General Assembly who are taking steps to address the presence of the confederate flag on the grounds of our State Capitol. Our firm fervently hopes that their efforts will help to further unify our state by successfully removing the flag.

Nexsen Pruet Board Chairman

As part of the firm’s response to the Charleston violence, T-shirts designed by patent draftsman Eric James are were on sale. Proceeds were donated to the Mother Emanuel Hope Fund. The artwork features nine rays of sunlight shining down on the church, each representing one of the victims.
