Jimmy Byars Selected for Leadership Columbia Class of 2018

One of 62 Individuals in 45th Class of Chamber’s Leadership Program

Nexsen Pruet Employment and Labor attorney Jimmy Byars has been selected to participate in the 2018 Class of Leadership Columbia. Byars is one of 62 individuals from the Midlands selected for the Columbia Chamber's 45th iteration of the professional development program.

The program curriculum includes monthly class day sessions, a retreat, a class project and a variety of enrichment activities around the area. Since its inception, Leadership Columbia has celebrated more than 1,900 graduates.

As a skills-building program, Leadership Columbia aims to identify and motivate emerging community leaders; provide an educational experience with a strong emphasis on social and community awareness; and challenge participants to apply their talents within their community while providing an opportunity to become involved.

A native of Columbia and graduate of The Citadel and Wake Forest University School of Law, Byars has practiced Employment and Labor Law at Nexsen Pruet since 2010, providing day-to-day advice and counsel to employers on employment policies and related personnel issues and representing clients in employment and labor litigation throughout the state.
