Economic Development Seminar

South Carolina vs. North Carolina

November 6, 2015

Nexsen Pruet's Economic Development Team hosted a seminar in Columbia.

Presenters discussed the differences between South Carolina and North Carolina when it comes to things like grants and tax incentives.

Attorneys Burnie Maybank, Tushar Chikhliker, Ernie Pearson and Chris Kouri were among those to lead sessions.

The topics:

  • Line Jumpers - Tax impact to SC when a company moves 10 miles from NC to SC
  • State Grants - South Carolina/North Carolina
  • Tax Incentives in SC & NC - Property taxes, sales taxes, income taxes, port cargo credits/data centers

For more than 20 years, our economic development attorneys have helped hundreds of companies, large and small, in establishing manufacturing, tourism, distribution, health care, corporate office and other commercial facilities.
