Stephanie Eames Graduates from the Riley Institute Diversity Leaders Initiative

Nexsen Pruet attorney Stephanie Eames has graduated from the Riley Institute Diversity Leaders Initiative at Furman University.

As part of the program, Eames’ group worked with the Metanoia initiative in the City of North Charleston.  Metanoia serves a high crime, high poverty neighborhood.  98% of the children in the neighborhood live below the poverty level.  Click here for more information about the Metanoia initiative.

She is a special counsel with the firm’s Banking & Finance Group in Charleston and focuses her practice on the areas of economic development, banking and finance, and corporate law.

Before joining Nexsen Pruet, Eames served as director of economic development for the City of Charleston.  In that position, she implemented programs aimed at job creation and retention through efforts in business finance, marketing, small business development, business retention and expansion, technology transfer, and real estate development. She is currently on the board of the S.C. Venture Capital Authority.

The Diversity Leaders Initiative focuses on diversity leadership, community building, and communication and collaboration skills. It is offered to select senior-level leaders across the state.  Since its inception, hundred of leaders have completed the DLI program.  During the class, participants take part in community action projects that are designed to help students learn leadership skills that are necessary for addressing diversity efforts in South Carolina workplaces and communities.
