Mike Pitts Selected for Leadership Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC — Mike Pitts, a Member (Partner) in Nexsen Pruet’s Greenville office, has been selected for the 2006-2007 class of Leadership Greenville.

Pitts practices in the firm’s labor and employment group and its commercial litigation group. He concentrates his practice on defending management in labor and employment matters. While he handles litigation, arbitration, and other adversarial claims, he also counsels management on ways to minimize or avoid disputes.

“Mike is very involved in the community,” said Leighton Lord, chairman of the board of Nexsen Pruet. “He’s not just an experienced lawyer, but he’s also civic-minded. Mike exemplifies one of the firm’s core values, and we’re proud that he’s furthering our tradition of service.”

Pitts has been a volunteer with both Habitat for Humanity and the Feeding Jesus program through a church in Greenville.  He currently sits on the board of directors of Friends of the Greenville Zoo.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Leadership Greenville is a program of the Greater Greenville Chamber of Commerce. It focuses on a diverse range of topics that include Greenville's history, government, planning, education, and human services.
