"Bankruptcies still soaring in S.C." The State March 21, 2010

In the Sunday, March 21st edition of The State newspaper, Nexsen Pruet attorney Gene Allen offered insight into why the rate of bankruptcy filings have slowed in South Carolina. Andy Shain reported the article entitled "Bankruptcies still soaring in S.C."
Allen told the paper that often times "people in foreclosure will wait until their homes are ready to be sold before filing for bankruptcy."
Allen added that there is a backlog of foreclosures in South Carolina courts and that he expects a spike in businesses bankruptcies in 2010 because more companies will be unable to get additional loans to pay off creditors.
