"Bankruptcy filings up more than 15.2% in Middle District" Greensboro Triad Business Journal January 31, 2010

Nexsen Pruet attorney Christy Myatt offers insight about why so many North Carolina businesses are in financial trouble in the January 29th edition of the Triad Business Journal.
The article, by reporter Laura Youngs, is entitled “Bankruptcy filings up more than 15.2% in Middle District.” It looked at how things like the high unemployment rate and sluggish economy have sent bankruptcy filings soaring in recent weeks.
“Businesses just can’t make it, and there is no money to get lending, and no buyer for assets,” Myatt told the paper. “It’s unlike days past, when someone could come in and acquire the company. We just don’t have those right now.”
