About “Legal Elite”
Business North Carolina magazine has been honoring Tar Heel lawyers with the “Legal Elite” recognition since 2002. This year, of the almost 20,000 active members of the North Carolina bar, only 603 lawyers from across North Carolina were picked by their peers in 14 categories. The publication sent notices to more than 19,000 active members of Bar and asked them to take part in voting. Lawyers could not pick themselves, and they could select partners and associates of their firms only if they also select lawyers outside the firm in the same categories.
