Attorney Gary Beaver Completes Overseas Military Service GREENSBORO, NC July 7, 2005
Gary L. Beaver,
a member in the Greensboro office of the law firm of Nexsen Pruet Adams
Kleemeier, PLLC, and a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve,
returned June 26, 2005, from serving for five weeks as the senior Judge
Advocate at the European Command headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany.
The European Command is a joint services headquarters controlling all
U.S. military forces in 91 countries and territories covering 21
million square miles, including all of Europe (including Eastern
Europe), most of Africa, Israel, Turkey, the Balkans, and Russia.
"Gary has served our country for more than 25 years," said Bill
Wilcox, managing member of the Greensboro office. "We are proud of
Gary's exceptional military service and want to publicly thank him and
his family for their sacrifice."
Colonel Beaver provided legal advice to EUCOM general officers on a
wide variety of issues, including those raised by operations in the
Global War on Terrorism and various international agreements with
countries in Europe and Africa and managed an office which included
military attorneys from all of the U.S. armed services and a civilian
attorney. Colonel Beaver has been providing legal services to EUCOM for
3.5 years, including a period of 6.5 months in 2003 during which he
served on active duty in Stuttgart and in Kosovo. This recently
concluded stint is expected to be Colonel Beaver's last at EUCOM as he
is completing his tour of duty at that duty station. For his service at
EUCOM, Colonel Beaver was awarded the Joint Meritorious Service Medal. Nexsen Pruet Adams Kleemeier, PLLC
