"Taking Off"

Dan McCue    Charleston Magazine    July 1, 2010

Charleston Magazine's 35th Anniversary Edition features an article entitled “Taking Off” which looks at the economic development impact Boeing is having on South Carolina's Lowcountry.

Nexsen Pruet's Stephanie Eames spoke to the publication about how the project came together.  She was a member of the Nexsen Pruet team that negotiated the incentives package for Boeing.

Eames told writer Dan McCue "I think a lot of it comes down to trust. These situations are always complex, and a lead can come from many different sources—the CRDA, the chamber, a county economic development director, or a commercial realtor—so it’s important to know you can turn to someone and have complete faith in them."

Before joining Nexsen Pruet, Eames served as director of economic development for the City of Charleston.  In that position, she implemented programs aimed at job creation and retention through efforts in business finance, marketing, small business development, business retention and expansion, technology transfer, and real estate development.
