"Thanking a behind-the-scenes player"

S.C. Senate President Pro Tempore Senator Glenn McConnell authored a letter to the editor in the November 6, 2009 edition of Charleston's The Post and Courier.   The letter is entitled "Thanking a behind-the-scenes player."

It is about the recent announcement that Boeing will build a manufacturing facility in North Charleston.  Sen. McConnell thanked Nexsen Pruet attorney Ric Tapp for working "untold hours, including Saturdays and Sundays, to ensure that everything was done."  McConnell's letter continues by saying that when "there was an obstacle he would call me or my staff so that we could address it.  Ric ensured that no glitch would derail this opportunity."

Tapp and other members of the firm's Economic Development team negotiated the incentives package approved by the South Carolina legislature.
