Quarterly Employment Law Breakfast Briefing - ADA Update - May 2006

May 31, 2006

Employers constantly struggle with how to apply important Americans with Disabilities Act requirements to day-to-day issues that arise in the workplace. Please join Nexsen Pruet's Employment and Labor Law Practice Group for a free breakfast briefing for employers about recent developments under the ADA.

At the briefing you will learn more about hot-button issues, such as:

  • Can mitigating measures, like medication, be considered in determining if an employee is disabled?
  • Are light duty, work-at-home, shift changes, and similar accommodations reasonable under the ADA?
  • When does an individual pose a "direct threat" under the ADA?
  • Does use of fitness or personality tests violate the ADA?

The briefings will be held from 8:00am to 9:00pm following a breakfast from 7:30am to 8:00am on the following dates at the following locations:

  • May 17, 2006 - 205 King Street, Suite 400, Charleston, SC
  • May 18, 2006 - 201 W. McBee Ave., Suite 400, Greenville, SC
