You Can't Say That on the Internet: Word-of-Mouth Advertising in the Digital Age February 19, 2010
Directories containing contact information for lawyers are nothing new. Increasingly, however, such directories are appearing on the Web and offering attorneys, their clients, and their colleagues the ability to add content such as approval ratings and comments. While such websites have tremendous client-development potential, lawyers must be cautious lest they run afoul of regulations on lawyer advertising. In this session, we will explore the application of the North and South Carolina Rules of Professional Conduct to websites such as Martindale Hubbell, Linked In, and Avvo.com.
