Macaulay Elected President-Elect of the SC Bar; Waring to Serve as State Bar Delegate Columbia, Charleston January 26, 2011
Nexsen Pruet is proud to announce that Angus Macaulay has been elected President-Elect of the South Carolina Bar. Brad Waring has been selected to serve as State Bar Delegate to the American Bar Association.
Macaulay and Waring will be sworn into their positions on May 5th, 2011. The Bar’s nominating Committee made its selections in September and the picks became official when nominations closed on January 15th.
“Brad and Angus are fine attorneys and having fellow members of the Bar select them for these leadership positions underscores the fact that they are highly respected within the legal community,” said John Sowards, Nexsen Pruet Board Chairman.
Macaulay is a Certified Specialist in Labor and Employment Law and is based in Columbia. Waring is a litigator and is co-chair of the firm's insurance litigation committee and is based in Charleston.
Prior to being President-elect, Macaulay served the SC Bar as Treasurer, a member of the Board of Governors and President of the Young Lawyers Division. Macaulay earned his B.A. in English from Sewanee: University of the South and law degree from University of South Carolina School of Law.
Waring is former President of the SC Bar and currently serves as Honorary Consul, North and South Carolina for the Kingdom of Denmark. Waring earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
