Nexsen Pruet Attorney Takes Part In International IP Seminar In Portugal November 6, 2005
COLUMBIA, SC - John B. Hardaway III, an attorney in Nexsen Pruet's Greenville office, delivered a presentation and participated in a panel at an international Intellectual Property forum November 2-5, 2005 in Lisbon, Portugal.
Hardaway, who practices in Nexsen Pruet's intellectual property group, attended the Open Forum of the Fédération Internationale des Conseils en Propriété Industrielle, an association of patent and trademark attorneys in private practice, where he made a presentation regarding Trademark License.
The presentation included a brief history of licensing and listed the essential elements of a trademark license and the length of licenses. Hardaway also discussed the need for a specified term, the need for quality inspections and whether a common-law trademark may be licensed.
While at the conference Hardaway also sat on a trademark panel with His Honour Judge Michael Fysh of the Queens Bench in Great Britain.
