SC Bar President-Elect Nominee Waring Attends Chicago ABA Leadership Conference

COLUMBIA - Nexsen Pruet attorney Bradish J. Waring attended the American Bar Association's 2005 Bar Leadership Institute (BLI) in Chicago.

Waring, who is the nominee for the office of President-Elect of the South Carolina Bar, joined 300 other emerging leaders of state and local bar organizations from across the country at the annual conference on March 10th, 11th and 12th. Waring, the current Treasurer, ascends to the office of President-Elect in June of this year.

At the BLI incoming local and state bar, special focus lawyer association, and bar foundation officials have the opportunity to confer with ABA officials, bar leader colleagues, executive staff, and other experts on the operation of such organizations.

Waring joined ABA President Robert J. Grey Jr. of Richmond, Virginia and ABA President-Elect Michael S. Greco, of Boston, Massachusetts, in sessions on bar governance, finance, communications and planning.

Waring, of Charleston, SC, practices in Nexsen Pruet's business and consumer litigation practice group with a concentration primarily on civil litigation in state and federal courts with an emphasis on complex commercial litigation including products liability, insurance coverage and business litigation.

Waring is on the Board of The South Carolina Bar Foundation and the University of South Carolina Law School Partnership Board. He is also a member of the Charleston County Bar Association, the South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys Association, the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel, the Defense Research Institute, and the American Bar Association. Mr. Waring is the past Chair of the American Law Firm Association, and presently serves as a Board Member and Treasurer of Historic Charleston Foundation.
