Brad Waring Appointed to the South Carolina Judicial Council

Charleston    July 20, 2010

South Carolina Chief Justice Jean Toal has appointed Nexsen Pruet member (partner) Brad Waring to the South Carolina Judicial Council. The Judicial Council is made up of judges, attorneys and lawmakers.

“Working along side great legal minds like those who serve on the council is one of the things that make my law practice so enjoyable,” said Waring, who is a past president of the South Carolina Bar. “I am honored to serve South Carolina in this capacity.”

The Judicial Council is tasked with several duties:

  • To study and survey how justice is administered in South Carolina
  • To receive and consider criticism and suggestions about the state’s legal system
  • To monitor the workings of South Carolina courts
  • To make recommendations about ways to improve the administration of justice

In addition to Waring, Justice Toal also appointed Circuit Court Judge Clifton Newman, Sixteenth-Circuit Solicitor Kevin Brackett and attorney Cam Lewis. Their term expires on June 30, 2014.

Brad Waring's law practice is concentrated primarily on civil litigation in state and federal courts, with an emphasis on complex commercial litigation. Waring is Honorary Consul for North and South Carolina for the Kingdom of Denmark and serves on the Board of the Historic Charleston Foundation.
