"Columbia attorney Angus Macaulay to take office as treasurer of S.C. Bar" South Carolina Bar news release Columbia May 2010

COLUMBIA, S.C. (May 18, 2010) -- Columbia attorney Angus H. Macaulay will be installed as treasurer of the South Carolina Bar on Thursday, May 20, during the Bar’s House of Delegates meeting at The Zone at Williams Brice Stadium.
Macaulay is a member in the Columbia office of Nexsen Pruet, LLC, practicing in the areas of labor and employment law and business litigation. He graduated from Sewanee: University of the South in 1986. In 1990, he graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law and was admitted to the Bar that same year.
Macaulay has served the Bar in a number of positions, including president of the Young Lawyers Division (1999-2000), member of the Board of Governors (2000-2002; 2007 to present), and member of the House of Delegates (2000-present). He is currently chair of the Task Force on Judicial Elections and serves as a member of the Task Force on Judicial System Funding.
Macaulay is a certified mediator and has also been certified as a specialist in the area of labor and employment law by the S.C. Supreme Court. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel. The USC School of Law Alumni Association recognized his contributions to the legal profession in 2003 with the Compleat Lawyer Silver Award. He has also been listed as a South Carolina Super Lawyer.
Also active in the community, Macaulay served as chair of the S.C. Cancer Center Board of Directors in 1999, as a member of the South Columbia Development Corporation from 1993 to 2001 and as treasurer of the S.C. State Library Foundation from 2005 to 2008.
