Kyrgyzstan Leaders Visit Billy Wilkins; Learn about US Laws & Justice System Greenville December 14, 2009
A group from Kyrgyzstan visited Nexsen Pruet’s Greenville office on Monday morning, December 14th and spent some time with Billy Wilkins, former Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.
The young leaders, from the three political parties of the eastern European country, are advisors and members of the National Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, officials with the cities of Bishkek and Naryn, and the head of the Youth Movement of the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan.

They visited South Carolina while on a political-study tour of the United States. The trip was arranged by the American Council of Young Political Leaders and sponsored by the U.S. State Department.
Wilkins, who served 26 years on the federal bench, talked with the students about state and federal judicial systems, sentencing guidelines, and Nexsen Pruet’s representation of Boeing.
