"The 'new normal' changes business rules"

Andrew Shain    Columbia    The State    December 6, 2009

Nexsen Pruet Board Chairman Leighton Lord is interviewed for an article entitled "The 'new normal' changes business rules" in the December 6th edition of Columbia's The State newspaper.

Andrew Shain reported on how business practices have changed due to the recession.

Shain writes "at another large Columbia law firm, Nexsen Pruet, the new normal means video conferences are replacing out-of-town retreats....  The firm also has cut meals and gifts for some clients, replacing them with face-to-face visits."

Lord told the newspaper that most clients do not want or "need a fancy gift or fancy meal; they want good service."  He added that the firm has been putting even more focus on  service by simply sitting down with clients and asking about how they are doing.
