"Immigration experts glad state agrees to back off on surprise inspections"

Hilton Head    The Island Packet    October 16, 2009

Hilton Head's The Island Packet interviewed Nexsen Pruet immigration attorney Melissa Azallion for an October 16th article entitled "Immigration experts glad state agrees to back off on surprise inspections."

Reporter Josh McCann wrote about how state regulators, business leaders and attorneys have reached an agreement.  At issue was how the S.C. Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation handles inspections when checking for compliance with a recently enacted provision of the S.C. Illegal Immigration Reform Act.

Azallion told the paper that there has been a high level of cooperation.  "They have heard our concerns. They have reacted positively."  She added "hopefully, that will continue as additional issues pop up."  Click here to read the full article.
