Wall Street Journal quotes Nexsen Pruet attorney Rick Mendoza The Wall Street Journal June 30, 2009

A June 30th article in The Wall Street Journal entitled "At Chicken Plant, a Recession Battle" quotes Nexsen Pruet attorney Rick Mendoza.
The article is about the town of Douglas, GA which "was devastated in February when its largest employer, Pilgrim's Pride Corp., said it would close a chicken-processing plant as part of the company's bankruptcy filing." Since then, leaders there have been trying to find a buyer who will keep the plant open.
The WSJ reports that Pilgrim's Pride "has so far rejected a $32 million bid for the plant from Amick Farms LLC of Batesburg, S.C." Mendoza told the paper that the rejection was a surprise because Amick "was in active negotiations with [Pilgrim's]...and otherwise was engaged in due diligence. My impression is that they did not want to sell."
