John Hardaway makes Presentation to Japanese Patent Attorneys Association in Tokyo, Japan

The American Intellectual Property Law Association sent a delegation of IP professionals to Tokyo, Japan for presentations to various Japanese Intellectual Property Groups.  Amongst those groups were the Tokyo IP High Court, the Japan Patent Office, the Japan Patent Attorneys Association, the Japan Trademark Association, the Japan Intellectual Property Owners Association, the American Chamber of Commerce and the U.S. Embassy in Japan.

Among the presenters was John Hardaway of Nexsen Pruet, LLC, whose presentation related to Patent Revival and Restoration Practices under U.S. Law.  This presentation was made to the Japanese Patent Attorneys Association on Thursday, April 17, 2008.

Hardaway concentrates his practice in IP and international law.  Additionally, he has served as president of the Patent, Trademark and Copyright Law Association of the Carolinas; chaired the Japanese Patent Office Liaison Council of the U.S. Bar; and chaired the American International Property Law Association’s IP Practice in Japan Committee.

He earned his undergraduate degree from Clemson, a Master of Science degree in ceramic engineering from Iowa State University, and his law degree from the University of Tennessee.
