April Lucas Wins YWCA's Tribute to Women and Industry - Diamond Award

Columbia, SC - April C. Lucas, a Member in Nexsen Pruet's Columbia office, has earned the YWCA's Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) Diamond Award, a nationally recognized honor given annually to outstanding female executives in the Midlands.

Lucas, who is active in a number of civic, policy, and professional organizations, practices in the areas of corporate, economic development, finance, international, public contracts, and public finance law.

"She is an exceptional lawyer who brings an awful lot of skill and professionalism to our clients. At the same time, she embodies our belief that we all have an obligation to give something back to the community."

Lucas heads Nexsen Pruet's economic development and bond groups. Over the years, she has been instrumental in developing innovative financing programs.

Lucas is on the board of the Columbia World Affairs Council and the South Carolina Cotton Museum; a member of the executive committee of the Midlands International Trade Association; a former president of the South Carolina Economic Developers Association; and a member of the Women’s Business Development Center, the South Carolina Small and Minority Business Development Authority, the Governor’s Welfare Blue Ribbon Committee, and the Department of Revenue’s Economic Development Incentives Committee.
