Four Attorneys Join Nexsen Pruet

COLUMBIA, SC - Nexsen Pruet, LLC announced today that Amy E. Allen, George Bullwinkel, Amy Harrison Clayton, and Jennifer Joan Hillard have joined the law firm as associates.

Allen will practice in the Greenville office with the Intellectual Property Group; Bullwinkel in Charleston, with the Real Estate Group; Clayton in Columbia, with the Real Estate Group; and Hillard in Columbia, with the Business and Consumer Litigation Group.

"These new associates will enable us to build the strength of our firm in their respective practice areas," said Leighton Lord, chairman of the board of Nexsen Pruet. "They will play an important role in helping the firm continue to deliver legal services to our business clients - now and in the future."

Allen earned her Bachelor of Science in Ceramic Engineering, cum laude, from Clemson University and her law degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where she made the Dean's List and was a member of the Trademark Moot Court team. Additionally, she worked in various engineering-related positions with CeramTec North America in Laurens, S.C.

Bullwinkel earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Clemson University, his International M.B.A. from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, and his law degree from the USC School of Law. He also attended the WHU-Otto Beisheim Graduate School of Management in Koblenz, Germany, and spent five months in Northern Ireland as a project manager with Larne Enterprise Development Co., working on various economic development projects.

Clayton earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, summa cum laude, with a Fine Arts Minor from Clemson University, where she was a recipient of the Algernon Sydney Sullivan award, and her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, she served as an articles editor for the South Carolina Law Review and as Clerk of Court for the Order of the Wig and Robe. She earned Center for the Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction Excellence for the Future Awards in Business Corporations, Criminal Procedure, and Evidence. 

Hillard earned her Bachelor of Arts in History, cum laude, from Florida State University, her Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina, and her law degree, cum laude, from the University of South Carolina School of Law. While in law school, she served as Articles Editor for the ABA Real Property Probate & Trust Journal, Vice President of the Children's Advocacy Law Society, and was a member of the Order of the Wig and Robe and the Order of the Coif.

All four graduated from law school in May 2005.
