Marguerite Willis named one of five new Columbia College Board of Trustees members July 29, 2005
Columbia, S.C. - Columbia College has announced the appointment of five new members to its 27-member Board of Trustees for four-year terms, 2005-2009. New trustees include Marguerite S. Willis of Florence; Jeff H. Selig and Dalhi N. Myers of Columbia; The Reverend Susan Henry-Crowe of Atlanta; and June Johnson Bradham '68 of Charleston.
Willis is a Member in the law firm of Nexsen Pruet Adams Kleemeier, LLC, working in the Columbia office in the area of commercial litigation, with concentration in antitrust and products liability.
She received a bachelor's degree, with high honors, from the University of Michigan and a J.D. degree, cum laude, from Stetson University. Prior to joining Nexsen Pruet in 2000, she was a partner in the firm of Howrey Simon Arnold & White, LLP.
A member of the board of directors of the S.C. Chamber of Commerce, she also currently serves on the University of S.C. School of Law Partnership Board and was a 2005 recipient of the YWCA of the Midlands' Tribute to Women and Industry Award.
Columbia College, founded in 1854 and affiliated with the United Methodist Church, is a private, liberal arts, women's college with a coeducational Evening College and Graduate School.
The College has been ranked since 1994 by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top comprehensive undergraduate colleges in the South. Enrollment is 1500 students from 23 states and 20 countries.
