Three Attorneys Join Nexsen Pruet, Further Strengthening Benefits and Employment Practice

Columbia, S.C. -- Nexsen Pruet, LLC, announced today that three new attorneys have joined the firm, bringing added strength and experience to its employee benefits, labor, and employment practice.

The three, who will be in Nexsen Pruet's Columbia office, are Michael T. Brittingham, William H. Floyd III, and James T. Hedgepath. They have collectively been practicing for more than three decades and have backgrounds in a broad range of specialty areas.

Brittingham's focus is employee benefits and related tax matters, including qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, welfare benefit plans, fringe benefits, and executive compensation. Brittingham has substantial experience with related litigation. He earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and his LL.M. in taxation from the University of Florida College of Law. Brittingham is a Certified Tax Specialist.

Floyd has practiced labor and employment law exclusively for more than 15 years. As a certified Labor and Employment Specialist, his experience is broad-based, and includes labor arbitrations, union campaigns, employment discrimination claims, and disability-related cases. He has also litigated wrongful discharge, discrimination, employee benefits, and products liability actions. Floyd received his B.A. from Wofford College and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law.

Hedgepath's practice focuses on employment issues, including employment discrimination and wage payment laws, as well as ERISA and employee benefits litigation. He earned a B.S. and MBA from Clemson University and his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
